From The Beltline to Inglewood
For almost 6 years since opening our original Beltline joint, ‘Small space, long waits’ was the most frequent complaint we continued to receive. We could only address this by expanding into a new location – at a neighbourhood that fits the ‘Monki mantra’ – innovation, collaboration & community. Where else would that be besides Inglewood! Our Inglewood breakfast club was opened in April 2019.
About Inglewood
Located just east of downtown Calgary, Inglewood nurtures a culturally rich community of local artists, musicians, boutiques, eateries, breweries attracting locals & tourists alike. The neighbourhood boasts iconic live music destinations like the Blues Can and Ironwood Stage and hosts a variety of festivals aimed at promoting local artists & businesses such as Jazz YYC, Sunfest, Fringe Festival & Mid Winter Film Festival. Furthermore, Inglewood is a popular family attraction with its proximity to Calgary Zoo, St. Patrick’s Island Park, East Village & the Fort Calgary Histroic Park.
Parking
In Inglewood, Parking is predominantly free & relatively easy to find. You will be able to park for free (2 hours) along our block on 9th avenue SE or in the nearby streets – 11th, 12th, 13th or 14th. Being of course incredibly cyclist friendly, the neighbourhood is fitted with bike racks throughout the Main Street (9th Ave) and adjacent streets.
Planning Your Brunch Visit
With a capacity of almost double our Beltline location, our Inglewood breakfast club offers a comfortable, spacey & family friendly dining experience in Calgary. We aren’t accepting reservations due to our limited seating. If you plan to walk-in during the weekend, you may experience a wait-time. You can instead skip the wait & ‘Get in Line’ virtually on your phone. We will then simply notify you when to make your way!.

Came here for my wife’s Birthday Brunch - the staff were incredible, sat us at the window and surprised us with a chocolate and banana French toast for dessert (they even sang happy birthday)! Food was delicious, will definitely be back!

We had a great experience at Monki today. The food was delicious and the atmosphere was very pleasant and cozy. The manager Gabriel was extremely polite and nice. And our server JB was very attentive and friendly! Definitely will be coming back!

Monki is one of our favourite spots for brunch in Calgary, and the Inglewood location is definitely our top pick. The staff are always friendly and attentive, and the service is quick even when it’s busy. The food is consistently delicious — the brisket hash bowl was especially amazing. If you’re looking for a great brunch spot in Inglewood, Monki is always a solid choice.

Cozy spot and felt like an old school breakfast location. We went for late breakfast. I had the full Monki and thought it was was great. The tots were awesome, eggs done just as requested and the bacon actually had meat on it. Our waitress (sorry, cannot remember her name) was excellent. She was very friendly and always smiling. She interacted very well and matched our humor. Will definitely recommend to others.

I loved my New Year's French Toast. Cody and the other nice lady serving us did a wonderful job.Will be back soon to try another menu!!UpdateTried beef brisket hash and beef brisket benedicts recently. Both are good. I think both dishes need more hollandaise sauce esp the benedicts.My favorite is still their French toast menu.

The front of staff is well trained with their food checks, water. Great job. The food is good here and the atmosphere is very cute. I love also that you can sign up for the wait list seamlessly. I also love they have a hook in the washroom.

We’re from out of town and stopped in for some breakfast. We had the beef brisket skillet and the reverse stuffed French toast. Everything was delicious and the service was great! Will definitely be back next time we’re in the area.
