From The Beltline to Inglewood

For almost 6 years since opening our original Beltline joint, ‘Small space, long waits’ was the most frequent complaint we continued to receive. We could only address this by expanding into a new location – at a neighbourhood that fits the ‘Monki mantra’ – innovation, collaboration & community. Where else would that be besides Inglewood! Our Inglewood breakfast club was opened in April 2019.

About Inglewood

Located just east of downtown Calgary, Inglewood nurtures a culturally rich community of local artists, musicians, boutiques, eateries, breweries attracting locals & tourists alike. The neighbourhood boasts iconic live music destinations like the Blues Can and Ironwood Stage and hosts a variety of festivals aimed at promoting local artists & businesses such as Jazz YYC, Sunfest, Fringe Festival & Mid Winter Film Festival. Furthermore, Inglewood is a popular family attraction with its proximity to Calgary Zoo, St. Patrick’s Island Park, East Village & the Fort Calgary Histroic Park.

Parking

In Inglewood, Parking is predominantly free & relatively easy to find. You will be able to park for free (2 hours) along our block on 9th avenue SE or in the nearby streets – 11th, 12th, 13th or 14th. Being of course incredibly cyclist friendly, the neighbourhood is fitted with bike racks throughout the Main Street (9th Ave) and adjacent streets.

Planning Your Brunch Visit

With a capacity of almost double our Beltline location, our Inglewood breakfast club offers a comfortable, spacey & family friendly dining experience in Calgary. We aren’t accepting reservations due to our limited seating. If you plan to walk-in during the weekend, you may experience a wait-time. You can instead skip the wait & ‘Get in Line’ virtually on your phone. We will then simply notify you when to make your way!.

Monki Breakfast Club & Bistro Lounge is one of those places that immediately feels good to be in. The food is consistently delicious, but what keeps me coming back is the staff. They’re kind, attentive, and genuinely welcoming in a way you don’t often find. Every visit feels relaxed, easy, and taken care of. It’s become one of my favourite spots because the people there make the experience just as memorable as the meal. Love you guys!

We had breakfast here and Natania and the whole service crew were so welcoming! We needed to catch up and ending staying from 9:30 until just after 2:00! Not once did the staff make either of us that we had out stayed our welcome the food was delicious too. I will definitely come back again! Thank you also to Virginia who chatted and let us know that we came on a good day- Monday- so they weren’t trying to free up a table for other customers. So so good!

This is our favorite place in Calgary now. We enjoyed a lot. Everything was excellent. We had Avocado lox and Korean BBQ Bowl, for drinks latte and salted caramel cold latte. So fulfilling and delicious. Definitely recommend to visit, you won't regret. Also, recommend to reserve table upfront because they are quite busy.

We went to the Inglewood location on Sunday for brunch and had the most amazing soul serve our table, Tatiana. Tatiana was absolutely amazing! She was so kind, genuine, and authentic, and her warm personality made our experience even more special. She went above and beyond with such a positive, caring attitude. Pure awesomeness from start to finish! We truly appreciated her and hope to have her again next time.

We absolutely loved this restaurant! We came back the very next day because the food, service, and atmosphere were all fantastic. If we could give more than five stars, we definitely would!The service was especially incredible. A special thank you to Nat, our server on the second day, who was incredibly kind, sweet, and attentive.We had the avocado toast and the waffles, and everything was delicious. The dishes are so creative and original, and you can really tell that a lot of care goes into every detail.We highly recommend this place and will definitely be coming back! ❤️

Randomly found this place on Google and highly recommend it. The food was excellent, and the service was amazing. We had the half Monki breakfast Which was tons for one person and everything was very flavourful and delicious. We will definitely be back!

I’ve only ever been to Monki twice, both instances I was with friends. The first time I went, I wasn’t really sure what to expect- honestly, I was going for brunch, which was really nothing special. However, the moment I walked into that small door, past the outdoor seating that blended into the iconic Inglewood neighbourhood, I knew I was in for a treat.The first time I went, I had their mushroom puff which was sautéed mushrooms on a puff pastry with side salad - I had it topped with a poached egg. The second time, I had their beef brisket benedict (as shown in pic). The servings were generous, the food was warm and fresh - served within a time period that allows you to engage in conversation with your companions and develop an appreciative appetite.In both times I enjoyed their hospitality, I was greeted with lovely people, people who, despite the place being busy, still manage to strike good rapport.

The Korean BBQ bowl was amazing! My partner had the Shakshuka bowl which was also amazing. The service was great and it's a small and cozy atmosphere. Definitely recommend a reservation as seats are limited.

Great vibes and great food. Server was on-pointe making sure all our drinks were filled. Our order came promptly & the plates were beautifully plated. Definitely recommend getting a reservation as it is a busy place.

Everything was fantastic across the board, especially for a busy Sunday during Stampede week! Reservations were easy to make and we were seated shortly after arrival. Service was prompt, informative and friendly. Lovely spot, the seasonal features and regular menu items were all delicious, the mimosa flight was definitely my favourite! Seriously recommend for anyone wanting a 10/10 brunch experience.
