From The Beltline to Inglewood

For almost 6 years since opening our original Beltline joint, ‘Small space, long waits’ was the most frequent complaint we continued to receive. We could only address this by expanding into a new location – at a neighbourhood that fits the ‘Monki mantra’ – innovation, collaboration & community. Where else would that be besides Inglewood! Our Inglewood breakfast club was opened in April 2019.

About Inglewood

Located just east of downtown Calgary, Inglewood nurtures a culturally rich community of local artists, musicians, boutiques, eateries, breweries attracting locals & tourists alike. The neighbourhood boasts iconic live music destinations like the Blues Can and Ironwood Stage and hosts a variety of festivals aimed at promoting local artists & businesses such as Jazz YYC, Sunfest, Fringe Festival & Mid Winter Film Festival. Furthermore, Inglewood is a popular family attraction with its proximity to Calgary Zoo, St. Patrick’s Island Park, East Village & the Fort Calgary Histroic Park.

Parking

In Inglewood, Parking is predominantly free & relatively easy to find. You will be able to park for free (2 hours) along our block on 9th avenue SE or in the nearby streets – 11th, 12th, 13th or 14th. Being of course incredibly cyclist friendly, the neighbourhood is fitted with bike racks throughout the Main Street (9th Ave) and adjacent streets.

Planning Your Brunch Visit

With a capacity of almost double our Beltline location, our Inglewood breakfast club offers a comfortable, spacey & family friendly dining experience in Calgary. We aren’t accepting reservations due to our limited seating. If you plan to walk-in during the weekend, you may experience a wait-time. You can instead skip the wait & ‘Get in Line’ virtually on your phone. We will then simply notify you when to make your way!.

A great little restaurant with interesting food, slightly off the norm, with some yummy chefs specials. The chef made my poached eggs exactly as I asked for, cooked whites and running yokes....I'll be going again for sure.

Such a good breakfast. Had the eggs Benedict with brisket on a croissant and was so good. Management was super friendly and I heard him asking the door dash driver if he needed water which it was a hot day. Super impressed with this place and the staff. Thanks James and staff.

Genial descubrimiento paseando por Inglewood, un sitio para hacer el brunch en el cual en nuestro caso, pedimos los tacos que en lugar de tortilla es un pancake, y yo me pedí una especie de tostada con pesto, tomates cherry, bacon y huevos pochados.Todo estaba brutal y el servicio súper amable, el camarero nos recomendó un sitio en Kensington súper chulo para el café, lo recomiendo 100%!

🌟 Brunch Bliss at Monki Bistro in Inglewood, Calgary! 🌟Had the most delightful brunch today at Monki Bistro in Inglewood, and it was an absolute feast for the senses! 😋Andrew went all in with the Biskey Poutine – think crispy fries smothered in rich, savory gravy, topped with melt-in-your-mouth brisket. It was love at first bite! 🥳Matt chose the Brisket and Eggs, a hearty masterpiece. Imagine perfectly cooked brisket paired with poached eggs that were just the right amount of runny, and crispy potatoes that hit the spot. Yum! 🍳🥩As for me, my sweet tooth took over, and I indulged in the Elvis French Toast. Fluffy toast piled high with creamy peanut butter, fresh bananas, and a drizzle of honey. Pure, unadulterated indulgence! 🍌🍯The food was amazing, the service was friendly, and the cozy ambiance made our brunch experience absolutely perfect. My boyfriend and I had went to this place around afternoon for breakfast/ lunch. for the starter, we got the Crispy Wagyu Gyoza which was basically dumplings with spicy pepper oil sauce on the side. it was great and the placement of the dumplings were very satisfying!for the main dish, my bf got the chorizo poutine, and it was so delicious ( maybe i thought that way because i was hungry), and my bf also really liked it. for myself, i got the Not-So-Classic Huevos Rancheros, and when the server came out with the food, i was shocked because it looked so much better than it did in the pictures online!! 😄after 30 minutes of eating and talking, the server would come between few minutes with water to make sure that our cup was full, and before we ordered everything, we loved the fact that he asked if we had allergic to anything, and how we wanted our eggs done, we found that very helpful, as my bf has allergic to avocados 🥑😅.the food presentation was overall well done and amazing, but as we were finishing up the food, it became too much oily at the end, but other than that, everything was perfect! ( well not really because after we paid, the server gave us fortune cookie, but i didn’t have any paper in mine, but my bf did, so it made me upset😡).overall 8.5/10( the price was a little too much for us students, the total was $60+)😭

Big breakfast guy here. I thoroughly enjoyed my experience at this restaurant. I ordered the salmon eggs benedict and my girlfriend ordered the brisket poutine which were both very tasty and generous portions. I'd also recommend the French toast at this spot which is a good option for something sweet. The service was excellent and we only waited about 15 minutes for our food. In total, including two entrees, drinks and tip the bill came to approx. $60. I would definitely come back to this spot. They also have patio seating which is nice in the summer.

Found this cute little breakfast place by accident on the weekend & was pleasantly surprised at how cute the atmosphere was! Love the plants & monkiesService was excellent and the food was amazing! I had the matcha vanilla latte & salmon Benedict and highly recommend both.I’ll be back for sure 🙂

The Brisket Bene is to die for! It is super tasty! I usually have a couple Monki Mimosas and my husband likes the Beermosa! Yes Beer Momosas! I like they are locally based with food and drinks. TRY THEM! You won't be disappointed.

I've been to monki years ago when i worked downtown, top quality nutritious dishes was a huge fan of their eggs benedict options... decided to reinvigorate that experience today. As a huge fan of breakfast and a bit of a snob, I must admit this place will never disappoint. Had the mushroom brioche! Highly recommended! With an extra egg on top 😀

Its such a cute little place with lovely decor. The food was to die for - very worth the price! The wait staff was kind and did well. When there was an accident at my table regarding my drink, a staff member named Patrick was very considerate and helpful, and made my experience top tier! Highly recommend this place.
